The world's Snow-Richest Village

Facts about the weather and climate conditions are one of the most frequent topic of conversation world-wide, including climate change and extreme weather situations. In the early weather analysis and meteorological record books you read about the world's driest place, the world's rainiest village, the world's coldest area but you still haven't heard about the world's snow-richest village.

We already know that Mount Baker (USA) is the world's snow-richest place. In 2003, one of the ski stations measured incredible 28.96 meters of snow during one winter season - an world record. But where is the world's snow-richest, permanently settled village? You won't find an official answer.

After checking varied archives and data collections we found out that our village also features world record data due to its exposed location on the ridge of the Northern Alps.

Extensive research studies by a renowned meteorological weather station during five consecutive years supplied evidence that Damüls in Bregenzerwald is the snow-richest village around the globe - therefore it is a world record holder! The average amount of snow in the selected period was about 9.39 meters of snow per winter season.
