Kulisse Pfarrhof & FIS-Ski Museum, Damuels
The Damuels Pfarrhouse can be found right in the village center below the St. Nikolaus church. It has been empty for several years and was reopened thanks to an initiative of Christian Lingenhoele and his plans to install the Ski Museum. The two buildings - parish house and stables - were adapted and made accessible to the public as "Kulisse Pfarrhof" in 2013. The parish house hosts varied temporary exhibitions, while manifold events with up to 100 people are scheduled in the former stables. A perfect combination not only for culture events.
Vorarlberg FIS-Ski Museum
The history of skiing in Vorarlberg goes back around 130 years. It is also the content of the FIS Ski Museum Damuels. In the past decades Christian Lingenhoele - shareholder of the mountain lifts in Damuels - as a former operator of a sports business has built up an extensive collection of historic skis. Since his retirement he has devoted himself intensively to this activity and thus created the basis of the reorganised Vorarlberger FIS Ski Museum in Damuels. In addition to historic skis, the focus is also on various equipment and memorabilia, clothing, photographs, literature and documents. Some curiosities illustrate the way in which past generations have experimented with skiing. A library and a historical archive are currently being built. Any information and objects will be accepted.
On the second floor there is currently a special exhibition "Pioneering spirit". How people shaped tourism." This exhibition portrays people, who were active in the founding years of tourism in Damuels / Faschina.
